Parental Alienation &
Family Reunification

Court-involved reunification therapy and expert clinical consultation from a Master's-level specialist with more than a decade of continuous court experience.

Understanding the Issue

What Is Parental Alienation?

Parental alienation occurs when a child is manipulated — consciously or unconsciously — into rejecting a parent, often as a result of high-conflict separation, divorce, or custody disputes. It can cause lasting harm to children's emotional development and their relationships with both parents.

Reunification is not simply about restoring contact. It is a careful, clinically guided process that prioritizes the child's safety and wellbeing, addresses the underlying family dynamics, and builds a foundation for sustainable, healthy relationships.

With the right support, families can heal — and children can thrive.

Signs That May Indicate Parental Alienation

  • Persistent, unexplained rejection of one parent
  • Child uses adult language or arguments they couldn't form independently
  • Lack of ambivalence — one parent is "all good," the other "all bad"
  • Child refuses visitation without clear reason
  • Denigration of the rejected parent in the child's presence
  • Child reports events they could not have witnessed
  • Anxiety or behavioral changes around custody transitions
